Zara Rashid-Abbasi, Associate Attorney

Zara Rashid-Abbasi practices exclusively in the area of Family Law. She works closely and collaboratively with our attorneys on client legal matters, including but not limited to including divorce, business valuation discovery, asset and property division, child custody and support matters, parentage cases, prenuptial and post nuptial agreements, and post-dissolution matters.

Ms. Rashid-Abbasi realized her passion for working with families and victims of domestic violence when she volunteered with Chicago's Apna Ghar, Inc. She received her undergraduate degree from Loyola University of Chicago, where she double majored in Political Science and International Studies. She then attended DePaul College of Law, where she earned her J.D. and a Certificate in Family Law.

During law school, Ms. Rashid-Abbasi was a law clerk at Wayne and Jemilo and served as president of the Society for Asylum and Immigration Law and as a Teaching Assistant for the Specialized Family Law Legal Writing Section. Throughout law school, she clerked at the Office of the Public Guardian in both the Juvenile and Domestic Relations divisions in addition to participating in the Poverty and Asylum and Immigration Legal Clinics.

Ms. Rashid-Abbasi is conversational in Urdu.
